Cookie Policy

1. Overview
TaxTreaties.eu uses browser-based technologies to operate the site, remember settings and manage choices about optional advertising. Cookies are small identifiers stored by a browser; local storage is another form of browser storage. See the Privacy Policy for personal data information.
2. Current application storage
The website previously used a first-party consent choice stored as tt_consent_v1. That mechanism has been retired and no longer controls advertisements. Visitors may still have the obsolete value in their browser; it can be removed by clearing site storage.
For advertising consent, TaxTreaties.eu is prepared to use Google Privacy & messaging, a Google-certified IAB TCF consent management platform, once configured and published through AdSense. Google's message will display the applicable partners and purposes and will manage its own consent records and identifiers. We will update this inventory based on the live configuration after activation.
The application may also use browser storage to remember checker selections. Base44 infrastructure or authentication may use additional technical cookies or storage that must be confirmed through a live browser inventory.
3. Categories of technologies
Essential: Technologies needed to serve the website, protect it and store requested privacy preferences.
Functional: Technologies remembering choices such as selected countries or language; consent may be necessary if not strictly essential or otherwise exempt.
Analytics: Optional technologies to understand site usage; where required, they must be blocked until consent.
Advertising: If enabled, Google AdSense and other partners may use cookies, identifiers and similar technologies for delivery, measurement, fraud prevention and, where permitted, personalisation. These may require consent under applicable law.
4. Consent and changing choices
When Google's EU consent message is active, it offers the choices configured in Google AdSense, including consent, refusal and management of individual purposes. The Cookie Preferences footer link allows visitors to reopen Google's message after the certified CMP has loaded. Clearing browser data may also reset stored choices. Withdrawing consent does not change the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
Advertising activation requires publishing the EU regulations message in Google AdSense first. If that message has not been published, this website's advertising integration remains disabled. We do not claim that technical implementation alone guarantees GDPR compliance.
5. Third-party inventory
A complete list of any third-party cookies, their duration, and their providers must be validated against the actual published website and advertising configuration. We intentionally do not invent cookie names or expiry periods. Additional details about services that become active will be incorporated here.
